Wedding FAQ's

1. Why video?

Video is the only medium that can truly capture all of the emotions and beauty of your day. Video allows you to share every detail of your wedding with those who could not attend and gives you the opportunity to see some of those things you may have missed. Years from now, you will be able to share these memories with your children, grandchildren or even great grandchildren. Your video can be used as entertainment at your reception and to makes a lovely gift for your guests. Most importantly, your video allows you to sit down together and experience the magic all over again throughout your marriage.

2. What should I look for when booking a videographer for my wedding day?

View sample videos and watch for the following: Questionmark
  • Does the camera seem steady (not jerky and not too much zooming)?
  • Does the picture appear to be in focus?
  • Do the clips hold your attention rather than drag on?
  • Is the music appropriate?
  • Are the effects appropriate and not overused?
    (certain effects get old…quick)
  • Do the bride and groom look relaxed or awkward?
  • Are the image and sound both clear?

3. How much do you charge?

Please visit our "Pricing Guidelines" page for more infomation.

4. Are you obtrusive during the wedding day?

No. While a lot of videographers boast about being "a fly on the wall"... we make sure that we are out of the way, yet still interacting with the guests so we're not just the “weirdo in the corner with a video camera”. We have systems set up for taping the formal parts of the wedding so that we blend in as much as possible.

5. What kind of equipment do you use?

Experience, talent and creativity should always come before the kind of equipment being used. That said... we doing use the best equipment on your wedding day. We use the Sony line of 3-chip HDV video cameras to produce the sharpest and most vibrant images. For sound, we use the Samson Zoom H4 Handy recorders (we stopped using wireless systems due to interference with churches, construction sites, etc.). We use an external source for sound, rather than rely our camera’s microphone, as the sound can appear muddled, especially if you’re outside. All of our tripods have fluid Manfrotto heads for the smoothest movements. Something that makes MBS unique is our Glidecam Smooth Shooter system... this allows us to achieve amazing sweeping shots and to really harness the power of motion.

6. Can we have a photographer AND a videographer?

Absolutely! Please visit our Photo vs Video page.

7. How long will the finished video be?

That’s really up to you. The length depends on which package you choose, though most edited wedding videos are between 30-50 minutes. We make it this length so that you can enjoy watching it over and over forever

8. Do you travel or tape destination weddings?

Yes, we LOVE traveling!.

9. What's the funniest thing you've seen at a wedding?

Dim lights

Clock_Image

This depends a lot on the time of season. If your wedding is in the middle or end of August (our busiest season), it's going to take long than in December (our off-season). We always work with your photographer to package the DVD, so sometimes we have to wait until they have finished with your photos. We usually say between 1- 6 months one month in the off-season and six months in our busy season).

11. How do I sign up?

  • Your wedding location (ceremony & reception)

Once we’ve received your information, we can sit down or have a chat over the phone and discuss the details and your wishes.
